0.1 Reason for issuance
The reason for this Operational Directive (DO-001-OPS-RPAS) is to update information related to guidance material for air operators 2.1 exclusively for operations with civil remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS); (for its acronym in English, Remotely Piloted Aircraft), of RPAs weighing less than 150 kg “Maximum weight take off ”.
0.2 Scope of application and duration
The scope of application covers all air operators operating in the territory Costa Rican, and that are duly recognized by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation. This Operational Directive is transitory in nature and will be in force until the issuance. of the RAC-RPAS Decree, which includes the updated information that has been indicated. The issuance of the RAC-RPAS that occurs after the date of issuance of this DO repeals this Operational Directive in all its extremes.
0.3 Action required by air operators
Air operators must take note and abide by what is indicated in this Operational Directive. Air operators must comply with the provisions of RAC OPS 1 and with this Operational Directive.
0.4 Signature of the Director General of Civil Aviation
Please refer to the last page of this document.
0.5 Effectiveness and documents it repeals
This Operational Directive enters into force upon its approval by the director.
